Printing & Publishing the story & poems written by a sex trafficking victim from Bangladesh who was trapped here in Kerala. The book with 80 pages will be used for further fund raising for providing help to this lady and many other victims of rape.

The poems & stories written in Bangla language by a trafficking victim who was temporarily residing in the Nirbhaya Shelter Home was translated into English first with the help of a person residing in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The same was then translated to Malayalam, poems by Anupama Mili & story by Anoop G. 2000 copies of the book were printed and a book release function was organized in Town Hall, Kozhikode on 14th November 2015. The cover price of the book was fixed as Rs.100/-.
The function started at 10.30am with the welcome address of Anoop G, in which the background of the project was explained. The celebrated author & social activist, Sri. M.N. Karassery released the book by handing over a copy to Smt. K. Ajitha, the president of Anweshi. Smt. Ajitha, who presided over the function, spoke a few words about the work. The Nirbhaya shelter home in Kozhikode is run by Anweshi.
Sri. M.N. Karassery delivered the inaugural speech. The eminent artist Sri. Paul Kallanod spoke about the pictures drawn by the Bangladeshi lady. Smt. Anupama Mili who did the translation of the poems in the book sharing a few words.
A token of gratitude from Arm of Joy was handed over to Smt. Ajitha & Sri. M.N. Karassery. Smt. Shyni, the floor manager of Nirbhaya Shelter Home delivered the vote of thanks.
There was also an exhibition of the paintings by the trafficking victim at Art Gallery, Kozhikode and we had arranged a counter for sale of the book there. 431 copies of the book were sold there and Rs.43,100/- was raised so. Of that Rs.25,000/- was handed over to the trafficking victim before she went back to Bangladesh. The balance amount & the amount to be raised from further sales will be used to organize various events for rape & trafficking victims.
Arm of Joy is trying to sell the balance copies also through VPP and also by associating with various book stalls. A standard commission of 40% is offered to the book stalls and the balance amount raised from the sale through them will be added to the fund of ‘Njan enna Murivu’ for the benefit of similar rape victims.
