Second Medical Camp under ‘Joy of Fitness’ project was organized at Govt. After Care Home on 2nd November 2015. After Care Home is a shelter for grown up girls of age between 18 & 21, under the Social Justice Dept, Govt of Kerala, at Vellimadukunnu, Kozhikode. The girls actively participated as volunteers too helping to record the data & other registration procedures. The height, weight & other data were taken and were filled in the health record.
The doctors did spend good amount time to talk with girls in detail & understand their health issues. Two physicians & a dentist examined the girls.

The First medical camp under the project was organized on the day of innauguration itself at St.Joseph’s Boys HSS, Kozhikode. The kids of 3 orphanages – Free Birds Open Shelter for Boys, Free Birds Open Shelter for Girls & Ekalavya Vidhyarthi Nikethan took part in the camp.
There was a Registration counter for the first camp. The height & weight of the kids were recorded.
Doctors had a chat before the medical camp and then examined the kids. The volunteers made sure that the camp is held smoothly.
A project to ensure proper health records with comprehensive medical history of the kids in as many orphanages as possible in the Kozhikode district and also to conduct periodic medical camps in each of these institutions. ‘Joy of Fitness’ project is sponsored by ‘1996 Boys’, students of the 1996 SSLC Batch of St.Joseph’s Boys High School, Kozhikode.

On Sep 5th, Teachers’ Day, the teachers of 1996 Boys inaugurated the ‘Joy of Fitness’ project. The health records were printed for each & every kids of orphanages. This can be used to track the medical history of the kids.
The inaugural function happened at St.Joseph’s Boys HSS, Kozhikode. Anoop G, explained about the activities of Arm of Joy in the welcome address. Teachers of the 1996 SSLC Batch of St.Joseph’s Boys HSS inaugurated the project by unveiling the logo of Joy of Fitness. Dr. Aquil Kalanad also spoke about the scope of the project ‘Joy of Fitness’.
