Though the boys of Free Birds Open Shelter Home have 4 bathrooms, many of them like to take bath from outside. This is also because there are around 30 kids there and it will take lot of time waiting for each one's turn. So the plan was to set up an outdoor shower arrangement adjacent to the Wash Area which we had recently constructed for the boys.
> A shower unit with all the additional fittings was bought and the plumbing work started. The shower unit and plumbing were arranged to celebrate the birthday of Manav mon from Kozhikode.
> A big mirror was bought and was installed on one wall of this shower area so that kids can brush their teeth looking at the mirror. This was bought for the joy of Gayathri & Rohit from Kozhikode on the occasion of their first wedding anniversary on 19th May.
> Along with the work of Shower Area, we had also set up a small space adjacent to the Wash Area where kids & also sponsors can sit & relax after having food. The mason work of both was done for the joy of Rajesh from Abudhabhi.
> We have bought 5 good quality taps of 'Jaquar' to be fixed in the shower area and also for the arrangement we are setting up for the boys of Free Birds to brush their teeth. The taps were bought for the joy of Krishnan from Kozhikode who was celebrating his birthday on 23rd May.
> A five feet long wash basin of stainless steel was bought & fixed in the Shower Area. The basin was bought with the amount shared by the parents of Adi & Ani, who wanted to do something noble in the name of their kids during this vacation.
> The floor tiles, wall tiles & granite slabs required for the Shower Area and also for the space adjacent to the Wash Area were bought for the joy of Amitha from Qatar.
> LED ceiling lights for the Shower area and also for the space near Wash Area was bought for the Joy of Avanthika mol from Kozhikode who celebrated her birthday on 30th May.
> The tiling work of the floor and walls of the Shower area and the space near Wash Area was done to celebrate Ehan mon's 7th birthday on 1st June.
> All the decorative things to inspire children for following the rules of hygiene & enjoying wonderful shower was done to share the joy on the occasion of the birthday of Ahi mon from Kozhikode.
> False ceiling was done for the shower area to make it bright & neat and was done for the joy of Shriya mol from Singapore who celebrated her birthday in May.
> Towel holders, Soap dish & Liquid soap dispenser were bought and fixed on the walls of Shower Area & Wash Area. This is for the joy of Shadim from Doha, Qatar.
> Adjacent to the Wash Area at Free Birds, we also arranged a space for the boys who want to sit & relax after having food. We feel this space will be of great utility for sponsors of food too, who usually like to interact with kids after having food. We have now set up an ‘L’ shaped seating arrangement in this space. Granite slabs have been placed on it & tiles are paved on both the sides. Materials required for this arrangement including Granite slabs, Tiles etc and labour charges for setting up the same were met with the amount shared by Fincy from Sharjah.
> The false ceiling in the space adjacent to the Wash Area was done for the joy of Jamsheer from Kozhikode.
> The material & labour cost for the decorative works & other miscellaneous expenditure were met with the amount shared on the occasion of the birthday of Ahi mon from Kozhikode in June.
> Ghee Roast & Vada were arranged for all the kids & other guests of the innauguration function on 28th June, for the joy of Vishwanatham from Kozhikode who celebrated his birthday on the same day.
So one more project to raise the hygiene standards of the kids of Free Birds Open Shelter Home for Boys got completed & was inaugurated by Sri. K. Soman, additional district & sessions judge on June 28th.
