Construction of a Wash Area adjacent to Food Corner for Girls of Free Birds
05 August 2018

After arranging a beautiful & hygienic Wash Area for the boys of Free Birds, we started the work to set up a similar space at their Girls Home too.

> Solid bricks, Cement, Sand etc are being bought and the labour charges for Walling & Plastering were met for the Joy of Rajesh from Abhudhabi.

> Metal frames & Trafford sheets were used to set up the ceiling to ensure that the girls can wash their hands after food and brush teeth without getting wet in the rain. The ceiling was done for the joy of 4 little ones - Adhidev, Arnav, Adhyayan & Navami from Kozhikode.

> Wall Tiles, Floor Tiles, Granite Slabs & Solid bricks required for the Wash Area were bought in the loving memory of Leela Nair, whose children wanted to do a meaningful act on her death anniversary.

> LED lights needed for the Wash Area were bought for the joy of Prathibha from Delhi.

> The labour cost for the tiling work was met with the amount shared on the occasion of the 2nd birthday of Aarush mon from Bangalore, last month.

> Two big trash bins were bought to be kept in the wash areas of both homes of Free Birds. This is in the name of Avanthika mol who wanted to share her Joy on the occasion of her first pilgrimage to Sabarimala, by doing a small act that can be of help to somebody.

> The wash basin, taps etc were bought for the Wash Area. The cost for the above things along with the plumbing & electrical materials and also the labour charges for plumbing & electrical work were met with the amount shared by the multi cuisine restaurant named 'The Coco Bistro' at Chevarambalam in Kozhikode. They had arranged a special buffet lunch on their innauguration day in March 2018 and had announced to handover 20% of the proceeds to Arm of Joy for executing some meaningful activity for the girls of Free Birds. The amount from them turned out to be extremely useful for fulfilling all the plumbing & electrical requirements of the Wash Area.

> A big Mirror was fixed in the Wash Area which will be of great utility for the girls to keep their hygiene level high, before & after having food and also while brushing teeth. The cost of mirror & its fixing, material cost & labour charges of Painting were met for the Joy of Ankur Sharma from Dubai.

> The transportation & other miscellaneous expenditure during the various stages of execution of this project were met with the amount shared by Rineesh Kumar from Kozhikode.

> On the day of inauguration of Wash Area on 5th August, Masala Dosa & Vada were arranged for all the girls by Archana from Doha, as it was the remembrance day of her father Haridas Kurup.

The all new Wash Area was completed with a budget less than 1 lakh and was inaugurated on 5th August in an informal gathering by the beloved District Collector of Kozhikode, Sri. U.V. Jose by around 5.30pm.
