An event for the children of Leukemia ward of Kozhikode Medical College

A dream comes true for those creative kids of Leukemia ward of Kozhikode Medical College. A magazine with memories, poems & short stories written by them was released on May 1st. C4CCCI (Caring for Childhood Cancer & Chronic Illness), an NGO under Institute of Palliative Medicine & the Department of Pediatrics of Kozhikode Medical College, collected the articles from these kids and Arm of Joy prepared a magazine named Punarjani 2015.

The multi-colour magazine with 40 pages printed in glossy art paper show cases the creativity of the kids. Short stories, poems, memories, drawings & paintings of these kids brought out in an aesthetically designed layout. The entire expenditure for bringing out the magazine in good quality was met by two couples : Diana-Sonu residing in Melbourne, Australia, who wanted to share the joy of purchasing a new home in Melbourne and Hema- Lineesh residing in Doha, Qatar, who wished to make their little princess Achu’s birthday, a meaningful one. We arranged a big cake for the kids & they along with the volunteers of C4CCCI cut the cake on the day of magazine release.

The renowned Script writer Deedi Damodaran, released the magazine by handing over the first copy to Ms. Sabna Ponnad. The magazine release happened on the day of annual get-together organized by C4CCCI at Lions Hall in Jafferkhan Colony, Kozhikode. It is a get-together of children who have completed treatment of Leukemia and children who are still undergoing treatment.

Ms. Deedi Damodaran sharing a few words after the magazine release. Dr. Ajith Kumar V.T, Associate Professor of IMCH and Sri. Raghunathan, President of Lions Club of Calicut, were also present on the dais. A copy each of the magazine was handed over to all kids.

A total of 1000 copies were printed and handed over to C4CCCI (Caring for Childhood Cancer & Chronic Illness), so that they can distribute among the well wishers.
