An event for the kids of Free Birds (Boys), Free Birds (Girls), Ekalvya, Sree Sadasiva & After Care Home on 12th July 2015

A short film fest was organized at the school auditorium of St.Joseph’s Boys HSS to inspire the kids of 5 institutions - Free Birds (Boys), Free Birds (Girls), Ekalvya, Sree Sadasiva & After Care Home. 6 movies were screened which were keenly watched by the kids. The event was sponsored by Ms. Fincy Felix from Sharjah, UAE.

Movies screened were Immini Ballyoraal, Appoonte Katha, Novormayude Madhuram, Little Boy, 5 roopa & Asai. More than 100 kids from 5 institutions thoroughly enjoyed the fest.

Sri. Maneesh Yathra, a teacher for Cheekkilode LP School and short film maker was the Festival Director. He spoke to the kids in details about the movies before the festival.

Some of the movies had very funny elements which entertained the audience. While some movies really brought tears to the eyes. Kids fully immersed in the movies for about one and half hours. As American actor & filmmaker Tom Hanks said “The cinema has the power to make you not feel lonely, even when you are.”
