An event for the boys of Govt. Children’s Home

A humble attempt to make the Summer Vacation a meaningful one for the boys of Children’s Home. We took them to Westhill Beach & played soccer & cricket with them. Two Footballs, Two Cricket Bats, Tennis Balls, Four Shuttle Badminton Rackets, a set of shuttlecocks, Badmintion net & small balls for kids were purchased & handed over to the kids. ‘Children’s Home’ at Vellimadukunnu is a shelter for orphans, under the Social Justice Dept, Govt of Kerala.

The event was organized for the Joy of three friends - Sreedev, Rathish & Aneesh - who got together during vacation after a long gap. We had arranged a bus for providing transport for the boys to Kozhikode beach. The Management of JDT Islam had offered their support by providing buses, at nominal charges.

The activity at beach started off with Cake cutting. After the children were divided into two teams and a football match was conducted. Refreshments were arranged during Halftime. The tightly fought match went on to sudden death. Athul Venugopal who came as a volunteer for the activity served as the match refree.

The kids also played cricket and after that snacks & Ice-cream were also served to all the kids at the end of the day.
