An event for the children of Prasanthi School

Children with special needs at Prasanthi School were taken to Jumbo Circus at Swapna Nagari, Kozhikode. An event sponsored by Aparna & Janakiraman. Aparna who wanted to celebrate her husband’s birthday in a special way, got into touch with Arm of Joy and this event was conceptualized.

Prasanthi School for Children with special needs, at Pantheerankavu, Kozhikode is a special school for imparting scientific training to mentally retarded children by special teachers under the direct supervision of qualified child psychiatrist. The school is under Navajyothi Charitable Trust, which also runs Prasanthi Centre for Autism & Prasanthi Centre for Slow Learners.

Smt. Sudha Thankaswamy, mother-in-law of Janakiraman took charge of the proceedings, by helping the kids to cut the birthday cake, arranged by Arm of Joy.

Volunteers of Arm of Joy spend some time with the founder & leader of Navajyothi Charitable Trust, Sri.Palat Ramakrishnan, a retired professor from Govt. Arts & Science College, Kozhikode. A noble & jovial soul who dedicated his post retirement period for these children with special needs.

A special bus had been arranged for taking children to Circus. By 12.30pm, the bus reached the Jumbo circus venue at Swapna Nagari, Kozhikode. Children got a place in the premium section inside the tent to watch the Circus.

More than 100 tickets worth Rs.200/- each were given free of cost by Sri.Ranjith, manager of Jumbo Circus. Thanks to him & for the Jumbo Circus management for this gracious act.. And special thanks to Anuapama Raghesh of Kozhikode Corporation, for talking with the Circus manager for arranging free tickets..

Arm of Joy volunteers distributed sweets & ice cream for the kids during the Circus. Arm of Joy could also gift a music system to the school on Janakiraman’s birthday.
