An event for the girls of ‘After Care Home’

The event was to provide an opportunity for Girls to purchase Cosmetics & Fancy Jewellery of their choice. ‘Arm of Joy’ arranged a mini bus and took 32 girls of ‘After Care Home’ to a Fancy shop. Girls could purchase items for around Rs.500/- on Valentine’s day. The activity sponsored by Anil & Pavithra to share the Joy on their daughter Navami’s birthday, turned out to be one of the happiest occasions in the life of those girls. ‘After Care Home’ at Vellimadukunnu is a shelter for grown up girls of age between 18 & 21, under the Social Justice Dept, Govt of Kerala.

10th Feb was 3rd birthday for Navami, daughter of Anil Anand & Pavithra Unni and they decided to celebrate it this time by sharing Joy with others. Thus, yesterday after making the purchase of Cosmetics & Fancy Jewellery, the girls of ‘After Care Home’ celebrated Navami’s birthday by cutting a butterscotch cake, eating chocolates and singing the birthday song loud for Navami.
Girls bought Nail Polish, Eyeliner, Talcum Powder, Mascara, Bindis, Hair clips, Bangles, Chains, Earrings, bracelets and many more accessories. Volunteers of Arm of Joy, Rekha & Divya, helped the girls to pick the apt ones from an array of cosmetic & jewellery items.

Mr.Asif, the owner of the fancy shop ‘Fiza’ near Nadakkavyu Police Station, Kozhikode offered incredible discount for the items, which ensured that the girls got much more than the amount allotted per head. The shop owner also surprised us by giving complimentary Vanity bags to the caretakers who accompanied the girls. He said that these ladies who look after the girls do deserve lots of appreciation for their service. Happy that there are businessmen like Mr.Asif, for whom everything is not mere business.
