Umbrellas from Jail

An event for the inmates of Poor Home.

The kitchen at Poor Home, Westhill is a bit far from the blocks where the inmates stay. They have to walk all the way to kitchen 3 times a day to collect their food. We thought if we can gift umbrellas for them, it would be really helpful in the scorching heat & also during the rainy days ahead. The umbrellas made by the inmates of Special Sub Jail were purchased for this. An event supported by Devi Krishna from California, US.

On 4th May 2016, Sri. Rishiraj Singh IPS, Jail DGP, inaugurated the sales of Umbrellas made by the inmates of Special Sub Jail, Kozhikode and we handed over the advance payment to the Sri. Rishiraj Singh IPS, for the bulk purchase. The Jail authorities offered that they would give umbrellas at the best possible rates for Arm of Joy, if we are looking to distribute more to orphanages & other institutions.

The distribution of Umbrellas at Poor Home, Westhill was done on 9th May 2016 after we got the entire lot of Umbrellas.
