An event for the girls of Free Birds Open Shelter Home.

Converting a shade under a tree in the courtyard of Free Birds Shelter Home for Girls to a wonderful space to sit & relax. It has been our dream for quite sometime to construct a basement for this tree, as it will be very useful when people come here to talk with kids & inspire them. We executed it with the amount shared by Archana from Qatar who wanted to do something noble in the memory of her father. The work had begun on July 21st and was innaugurated for girls on July 28th, the death anniversay day of Haridas, father of Archana.

The basement for the tree was constructed in such a way that it can accommodate around 20 kids. 9 benches were constructed in front of the tree and around 35 kids can sit on it.

The lyricist & music composer, Sri. Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri inaugurated Shade of Joy by singing a song. The function started at 5pm by explaning the concept of Shade of Joy. Sri. Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri interacted with the kids for about half an hour.

The spot is definitely going to be a favourite one for the kids and we will be making it even more attractive and a convenient place to sit by paving granite slabs on the benches and also doing the flooring, as and when we receive funds in the future.
