An event for the girls of After Care Home.

Wedding of 3 girls were fixed in January and as usual, Arm of Joy extended all possible support to the home by acting as an event management team to organize the shopping, celebration & everything related to the wedding. The wedding ceremony happened on Monday, Feb 11th in the courtyard of the After Care Home itself. Arm of Joy also organized a pre-wedding day celebration on Feb 10th, Sunday.

We took all the 3 girls to the city on Feb 5th for the wedding purchases. The wedding saree, footwear, cosmetics, fancy jewellery, trolley bag etc for all the 3 girls were purchased for the joy of Kichu mon from Saudi Arabia who celebrated his 6th birthday in January. It was one full day of shopping yesterday and girls could select all the items as per their wish.

Gowns for girls on the pre-wedding day celebration were purchased for the joy of Jinu from Kozhikode. The rent of the Sound system for the DJ Party was also met with her contribution.

The girls were taken to Zain Beauty Studio at YMCA cross road on Feb 7th. The studio owner Smt. Deepa Pavithran had offered 3 hour slot for the girls. She also did the bridal makeup on the wedding day.

Photographer Abhilash from Eranjipalam covered the wedding function & the party eve. He also found time to do the photo shoot for the couples on Feb 7th.

This is the 5th wedding event that we are co-ordinating for the inmates of After Care Home & Mahila Mandiram and for the first time we organized pre-wedding counseling sessions for the brides. They are going to be part of normal families from now on and we feel that counseling will help them a lot to enhance their confidence. This wonderful suggestion came from Smt. Prathyusha of ‘Sukritham Girls Home’.

A three hour Psychological Counseling session was done by Remya Raman (Psychologist at CMI Public School) on Feb 8th & Dr. Jitha (Gynecologist at ARMC Hospital) spoke with them on Feb 9th about various physiological matters.

We had a rocking party on Feb 10th for all the inmates of After Care Home, Mahila Mandiram, Children’s Homes & Old Age Homes in the compound. The decoration of the stage was done by Sushaj Serveall. The thrilling DJ Party was offered by DJ Arjun.

Watches for all 3 girls were gifted by Padmini & Gangadharan from Kozhikode who are celebrating their wedding anniversary next month.

Jasmine for all the 3 brides was bought for the joy of Sundaran from Kozhikode.

The various charges for the bridal makeup of the girls were met with the amount shared on the birthday of Kichu mon from Saudi Arabia.

The transportation & labour charges for stage decoration & actual cost for flowers used for decorating the stage on wedding day were met for the joy of Varsha from New Delhi.

The wedding album will be ready soon. The honorarium given to photographer and the printing charges of the wedding album will be met with the amount shared on the occasion of the birthday of Nisha from Kozhikode last month.

The designing charges of the wedding album will be covered with the contribution from Vidhya & making charges of the album will be met for the joy of Mrudula from Bangalore.

The invitation cards for the wedding, printing & designing charges for flex banners and the other miscellaneous expenditure were met with the amount shared by Rineesh Kumar from Kozhikode.

A total of 58,000/- was the amount contributed through Arm of Joy by our supporters to make the wedding a memorable event for the girls, in addition to the services offered by many through us without charging anything. For the bridal makeup, stage decoration, DJ party, photography etc, we just had to meet the actual expenditure for the materials, transportation etc. The total value of these services would easily amount to another One lakh rupees. Thanking each & everyone who ensured that the event will always remain as a colorful memory for all the girls of After Care Home & other inmates of various neighboring homes.
