An event for the inmates of DD Home.

The life of old aged inmates of DD Home, which is a shelter home for those cured from Leprosy but abandoned by relatives, were always confined to their compound in Chevayur. They have never seen the outside world for the last 20 years or so. Since many of them have lost their fingers, toes & even legs, they were too reluctant to face the outside world.

On this day we took them out for gifting a memorable day to cherish forever in their life. A tempo traveler has been arranged and we took them for the feel-good movie ‘Varane Avashyamund’ at Aashirvad Cinemas, RP Mall. Then they had a a grand lunch at the prestigious Paragon restaurant. After that, they will had an opportunity to visit the inmates of Poor Home, an old age home at Westhill, which is under the same management of DD Home. The evening was spent at Westhill beach.

It was a wonderful day for the inmates of DD Home, having a chance to get a feel of the city by visiting mall, multiplex, fine dining restaurant, beach etc.

The whole event was organized as per the wish of Sreeraj from Mumbai, in memory of his father Gopinathan, whose first death anniversary was observed a couple of days ago.
