An event for the inmates of Poor Home.

With the amount raised by the kids of Start Right school, we could do one more meaningful activity, this time in an Old Age Home located at Westhill. A public address system named Ullasabhashini was installed by Arm of Joy at Poor Home, with which important messages can be announced that will be heard in all the blocks where the inmates are staying. These blocks are about 250 meters away from their main office and we have done electrical wiring all the way. 4 speakers were installed in their blocks, which include sick bay & canteen. And two other speakers were also set up in two office rooms.

The amplifier has got USB, Bluetooth & FM options apart from the microphone facility. This means the inmates can now hear devotional songs in the morning and also their favourite old Malayalam songs during day time. They can also listen to news & other programmes in Akashavani & private FM channels.

The whole system was set up with an amount of Rs.30,000/-, raised by the children of Start Right school by conducting a charity fair. About 70 children along with their school principal & other staff visited Poor Home today & the kids themselves innaugurated ‘Ullasabhashini’.

The children also visited Free Birds Open Shelter Home for Boys, where the amount raised by them in the last academic year was utilized to meet the labour charges of plastering & painting of the badminton court & the adjacent gallery.
